Two Dead in Car Accident in Dallas

It’s scary how one decision can change – or even end – a person’s life. That’s what happened on September 5 when two cars at the intersection of Hampton Road and West Ledbetter Road in Lewisville hit. Two people were killed, and two others were taken to a nearby hospital. One of the injured victims was a little girl.

According to the NBC report, a nearby Jack-in-the-Box employee who worked at the drive-up window said the two cars were racing.

“The cars that were racing didn’t stop, so they hit the back of that car and made them fly into 7-Eleven and the light pole, hitting the parked Jaguar,” the employee said.

When an accident like this happens, you need to know your rights. A car accident attorney can help you get justice.

Who is to Blame?

With some accidents, it’s harder to assess who is to blame. One of the best resources would be the police report. The police report lists all the details of the accident and includes witness statements. This report will usually clarify who was to blame in an accident.

You can also call a personal injury lawyer and explain your case to him or her. As every accident is different, it is sometimes hard to know your rights and what you are entitled to. A good personal injury attorney will listen to your case and give advice about how to proceed. In some cases, you may file a lawsuit. In others, you may not.

If you are in a car accident that you did not cause, you want to make sure that the rightful person takes responsibility for your injuries and car damages. Always call the police and file a police report. If there are witnesses, ask them to give a statement and get their contact information. They may testify if your case goes to court.
