Officers Injured in Crash Responding to Road Rage

Early Sunday afternoon, two local police officers were injured in a car accident. The two in question were responding to a road incident, according to the police department. One officer, following the crash, was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth. The other went to John Peter Smith Hospital. According to the department, both officers were awake and alert to the situation. Their names were not released.

The Incident

On Sunday, around 3 pm, the two officers answered an emergency call of a road rage incident involving an individual with a gun. Said incident occurred at Interstate 20 and Hulen Street. A caller told the dispatcher that another motorist pulled alongside them and pointed a handgun at their car.

“Officers located the suspect vehicle and attempted to make a stop, but the suspect did not stop, and a pursuit ensued,” said Officer Brad Perez in a statement. The chase in question went from I-20 to Loop 820 in Fort Worth.

The two injured officers collided with a brick wall at Loop 820 and White Settlement Road.
