Last week, a motorist died after a two-vehicle crash on a slippery Fort Worth road, according to police. The name of the victim was not released. Police responded to the incident shortly after 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning along Angle Avenue and N.W. 28th Street. Officers discovered the wreck involving a white truck and white Mercury. The female driver of the Mercury was not breathing and was later pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
This was not the first, nor the last, accident of the morning, though. Police reported over 30 minor and major car accidents last Wednesday as torrential showers blanketed Tarrant County.
Car Accident Settlements
There are numerous reasons for a car accident, including weather conditions, negligence, or plain bad luck. You’re likely entitled to a certain amount of compensation to cover medical bills and damages to your vehicle, though. Contacting a trusted attorney is crucial.
If a loved one has perished in an accident, you may be able to fight for wrongful death. The loss of a loved one is tremendous. It’s a confusing, stressful, and overly-emotional time. We’re here to help, though.
Crucial Factors of Car Accident Settlements
When it comes to a settlement, there are numerous variables to consider. Your insurance provider will be thorough in their assessment. Their adjuster will examine absolutely everything. They will consider factors including:
- Whether anyone was driving while intoxicated
- Whether an airbag deployed or not
- Moving violations
- Vehicle damage
- Rear-end or intersection factors
- Type of vehicle
With so many factors to consider, it’s almost impossible to estimate a settlement amount in full. You’ll want to be as thorough and honest as possible.
