Why Representation is Important after a Bicycle Accident

If you or someone close to you has been involved in a bicycle accident and injured or killed, it is imperative that you speak with a seasoned attorney as soon as possible so that your rights are protected. While there have been several laws recently enacted in Texas to protect cyclists, accidents still happen. In the above incident, the cyclist was very lucky in that he was able to survive. While there will more than likely not be grounds for any sort of legal action in this instance, there are several others where cyclists have been the victims of negligent automobile drivers. If you are in this type of situation, it is vital that you call a lawyer who has experience in dealing with this type of litigation.

In several D/FW cities, laws are in place that establish “buffer zones” of at least three feet between vehicles and cyclists riding in designated bike paths. While this seems to be an adequate amount of space to avoid a bicycle accident, many drivers fail to observe local laws. Whether they are experiencing road rage or simply having a bad day, there are several motorists who ignore the law and severely injure cyclists as a result.
