Drunk Driver Hits Police Car, Garland

The police officer was blocking traffic at the scene of an accident near President George Bush Turnpike and Campbell Road. The intoxicated driver, Kelsey Harrington, 26, rear ended the patrol car at about 12:30 a.m.

After rear ending the officer, Harrington exited her vehicle and attempted to walk away. She was arrested at the scene. Police are charging her with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop and render aid.

The Garland police officer’s name was not released. He is in Plano Medical Center for neck and back pain.
